Recent advances in the synthesis of polycyclic and spiro N-heterocycles via aryl alkyne-based strategies

This review summarizes recent advances in aryl alkyne-based cascade cyclization strategies for the synthesis of polycyclic and spiro N-heterocycles. Emphasis is placed on radical-triggered processes under photocatalytic, electrochemical, thermal, and transition-metal-catalyzed conditions. These approaches enable rapid construction of complex heterocyclic architectures with high step economy and broad functional group tolerance.
